Consultancy

We work directly with the child or young person to understand their perspective on challenges and what might help, ensuring their voice is central to the process.

How it works

Our work with nurseries, schools and post-16 settings is informed by autistic perspectives and lived experience, and offers flexible ways of supporting children and young people across all phases and educational stages. Through collaborative discussions, observations, modelling communication and interaction style, as well as tailored support sessions, we help settings build a deeper understanding of each individual’s strengths, needs, and priorities for support. We provide practical advice, clear recommendations, and appropriate signposting, while supporting reasonable adjustments and meaningful adaptations to provision. This work can contribute to information for diagnostic assessments, inform EHC needs assessment requests, or strengthen SEN support as part of the graduated response. Our aim is to ensure every child and young person has equal access to learning in an environment where they feel safe, understood, and valued.

A hands-on approach to supporting neuro-affirmative practice in the Early Years

We empower Early Years staff through practical modelling, supported practice, and expert coaching. This hands-on, three-week support model is designed to help nursery practitioners build confidence and embed inclusive strategies for children with social communication and interaction needs. An Early Years adviser works alongside staff to observe practice, agree outcomes, and offer clear recommendations, before modelling targeted sessions or strategies such as Attention Autism, structured play, communication support, behaviour support, and regulation approaches. A final visit focuses on reflection, coaching, and adapting strategies so they are fully embedded into everyday practice. This approach builds confidence through live demonstration, supports real-time reflection and skill development, and ensures strategies are not just introduced, but owned, adapted, and sustained within the setting.

On all day drama workshop

“It’s hard to convey all that was great about the day but I think seeing these particular groups of children so relaxed and having fun while learning about something so important was just wonderful. Drama is such a supportive means of teaching children about emotions.  We are incredibly proud of the pupils who attended today and their contributions in X’s  sessions. X, it is such a pleasure to have you in school.”
