EYs and Educational Settings

We offer 1:1 assessments and consultations, group interventions, whole-setting support, and professional CPD. Working at universal, targeted, and intensive levels, our team helps identify and reduce barriers to play, learning, and social engagement. By increasing staff confidence, awareness, and capacity, we promote inclusive, neuro-affirming environments that improve outcomes in education, independence, daily living, and family engagement—creating positive pathways for neurodivergent learners to thrive.

Early Years

Within Drumbeat Outreach, we are proud to have a highly skilled and dedicated Early Years team. Our practitioners are specialists in supporting autistic children and those with related communication differences from birth to five years. With extensive experience in early childhood development and inclusive practice, they work collaboratively with families, early years settings, and professionals to support identification of need and understanding of each individual child and family.

Our team promotes neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, relational inclusive approaches from the very beginning of a child’s educational journey. Through tailored support, training, and partnership working, we aim to create environments where every child can thrive, feel understood, and be celebrated for who they are.

School and Post-16 Provision

The Schools Team is made up of teachers and advisors with extensive experience of mainstream, specialist and special school provision across all phases and stages of education. All members of the Team are trained in evidenced-based, autism specific approaches and neuro-affirmative practice. Relational and trauma-informed approaches underpin everything we do. Our services are rooted in a neuroaffirmative, pupil-centred approach that celebrates neurodiversity and centres autistic and neurodivergent voices. We work in inclusive and empowering ways, taking a strengths-based perspective while recognising the real challenges and support needs that neurodivergent children and young people may experience.

Our work is informed by lived experience and what we have learned directly from autistic pupils and their families. We support schools and post-16 settings to develop practical, reflective approaches that create genuinely neuroaffirming environments, while promoting self-awareness, self-esteem, self-worth, and self-advocacy for autistic learners.

What our clients say

On all day drama workshop

“It’s hard to convey all that was great about the day but I think seeing these particular groups of children so relaxed and having fun while learning about something so important was just wonderful. Drama is such a supportive means of teaching children about emotions.  We are incredibly proud of the pupils who attended today and their contributions in X’s  sessions. X, it is such a pleasure to have you in school.”

Service Level Agreements

Drumbeat Outreach offers a Service Level Agreement (SLA ) that supports schools to embed neuro‑affirmative, trauma‑informed practice across their settings. Drumbeat practitioners work alongside school staff to develop inclusive, strengths‑based approaches that recognise, respect, and value neurodiversity, including autistic and other neurodivergent pupils.

Through consultation, advice, and early intervention support, we help schools better understand neurodivergent experiences, identify barriers within the environment, and implement meaningful, reasonable adjustments. This collaborative approach supports emotional regulation, reduces distress‑based behaviours, and promotes positive engagement and wellbeing.

The SLA also focuses on building staff confidence and capacity, enabling sustainable change through whole school CPD, reflective practice, shared problem‑solving, and whole‑school approaches to inclusion.

Schools can find out more about what’s included and sign up to the SLA via the link below, which will take you to Lewisham Services for Schools Online.
